A man has been jailed for 12 months after being found guilty of sending an explicit photo of his girlfriend’s naked body to a magazine he read.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography after police said he had accessed the internet through a child porn website.
Police say the photo was taken by a 19-year-old girl in the UK in 2014 and later shared on social media with her father and his girlfriend.
The 19-yr-old had contacted the man through an internet dating website and asked to send a picture of herself and his mother’s naked bodies.
Police were called to a house in the Scottish town of Garsdale on July 12 last year and a search of the property turned up a number of child pornography images on a computer.
The 18-year old girl, who was the victim’s girlfriend, contacted police and later told officers the man had sent the images to her through an email.
Police said they recovered images of the images and found it was the second time the man was seen accessing child pornography.
The court heard he had previously been convicted of two counts of possessing child abuse material in a separate case in 2015.
The case is adjourned until next month and the judge will decide whether to sentence him to 12 weeks in jail or to serve his full term.
